Office Interior Design (Confidential Client)

500 m2 | 2017

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO  The inspiration for this unique office space was an English library and was conceived in collaboration with Interior Designer Sofía Aspe. The finishes were chosen to match the classic wood furniture, creating an eclectic mix between modern and historical design. Thönet and Son chairs from the 19th century are featured prominently. An Eames Tulip Table and Egg chairs bring a modern edge to the reception area. Eero Saarinen executive chairs, Hans Wegner Wishbone chairs and antiquities from the 18th century complete the character of the conference room and President’s Office.

The wooden textured floor contrasts with marble tables and counters, the traditional tartans pattern in the fabric used in lamps and cushions recall Scottish designs woven in wool. The yellow light used to frame the books on bookshelves and the Oushak woolen rugs in soft shades of grey and blue add warmth. While some elements were used to create a traditional and formal space, contemporary furniture was added to bring comfort and functionality, a great example is the Steelcase seating in the meeting space and workstations.

The result is an exquisite space full of details, panoramic city views, natural lighting and an intriguing art collection.
