MEXICO CITY, MEXICO  Ortho Clinical Diagnostic is a single level project located near Mexico’s City World Trade Center. OCD is dedicated to research and development of medical devices to treat and detect medical problems and illnesses focused on Orthopedic treatments. Within its program, they required a large area for training, as well as a fully equipped laboratory to develop and test new products.

KMD had the opportunity to mix two major areas of expertise—corporate interiors and healthcare design. The interior design concept marries clinical  space with a comfortable look by utilizing warm colors like ocher, red and orange accents, and materials to create a relaxed atmosphere for OCD employees.

Assisted by the OCD internal marketing team, KMD generated branding designs to be installed on walls and windows in order to dress spaces with graphics and at the same time express company values, mission and vision for all the employees to see and learn. Open areas were proposed with the idea of promoting interaction between staff and to reduce hierarchies and accelerate internal processes. The client was a key member of the design team contributing to the success of the project—OCD and their talented personnel enriched the project in many ways.
